I stayed with my three sons in their Private 4-Bed Deluxe Room — it was perfect for us! The room was super spacious, clean, had air conditioning (a big plus!), two single beds and a bunk bed, plus our own private bathroom. Every bed had a reading light, a USB charging port, and a little table attached to the side — perfect for keeping your snacks, phone, book, or little notes right by your bed. So handy, especially with kids! They provide comfy pillows, duvets, and linen too. The hostel itself is set in a very cool building — it used to be a zoological university! It’s right next to Oosterpark, so we had gorgeous views and easy access to the park for walks and fresh air. And it’s not just about the rooms — Generator Amsterdam has a café for coffee and snacks, a lounge area for relaxing, and… At night, a little secret comes alive underground. The old boiler room turns into Oosterbar, a hidden club where beats take over and the energy gets electric. You’d never guess from the peaceful park surroundings what’s happening underneath!

Loved the atmosphere, what a brilliant concept - elevated hostel with quality decor, services, open plan spaces and lots of people of all ages, all nice and inviting. We were a family with two small kids of which one poorly baby, so really enjoyed the room with big windows to play in and the canteen with handy easy food to share and the auditorium to sit quietly for a cheeky break. Breakfast was excellent, coffee was best I ever had in a buffet!! Location was super, 15mins by tram to center, park and playground behind building, lots of shops and restaurants nearby. Clean and comfortable throughout and staff were very nice.

Beautiful building, very cool atmosphere and bar / club rooms (unfortunately didn’t have time to enjoy them - converted auditorium was especially unique), very clean, friendly staff, secure. Food looked very nice, although I didn’t partake. Fair price for capsule (though very uncomfortable) Good location, short walk from centre (around 20 min), with plenty of local parks, attractions, amenities and small businesses / restaurants. Ramen place around the corner opposite an equally good Coffeeshop are well worth visiting. Tram (N14) stops just a couple of minutes away and goes to central (~€2)

I loved everything, the bed and the pillow were perfect, also al the space to put stuff around the inside part of the bed. The bathroom were perfectly clean all the time, even the probates ones, and so modern. The common areas really well designed, with different spaces to relax or use your laptop. The staff were really amazing. The rooms were pretty big and the individual locker as well, you can put at least two or three small backpacks. Also I loved the cafe inside the hotel, plenty of options if you want to stay in.

I like the location. It's close to the city center, has good public transportation access, and easily accessible restaurants and supermarkets. I appreciate the hotel's facilities and the numerous common areas that encourage social interaction. I particularly enjoy the park surrounding the hotel and the large glass windows that offer views of the park.
